Controversial Prophet Sherperd Bushiri and his Wife Mary Bushiri briefly appeared before Court in Pretoria on Monday. They are facing charges of money laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organized Crime Act.

Their appearance follows their arrest on Friday from their lavish home in North west. They were arrested by the HAWKS on allegations that they transport money from South Africa to Malawi on monthly basis without registering it with SARS. Their alleged acts found to be incontravesion with the law.

During their appearance, their supporters were gathered around the court threatening not to vote if their Major 1 is not released from jail. Their threats comes at a time when South Africa is heading to the poll later this year.

Bushiri's arrest emanate from the case which the Hawks had been following since 2015.

"No Major 1, No vote. We want our Daddy. Free our Papa and Mama," says the supporters who were crying tears outside the Court.

It is not yet clear if indeed their threats will turn to be reality which can somehow affect the country's votes. Bushiri is reported to have more South African followers who attend his Church.

Weeks ago Bushiri appeared before the Commission for Rights and Protection of Religion and Languages following the stampede that took place at his church and killed three people. It is alleged that after the incidents the scene was tempered with and the bodies were removed from the actual scene.
