Illiterate Councillors to be removed from Council

The ANC Councillors will be removed from the municipal councils and be hired to patch the potholes on the roads, says EFF leader Julius Malema. He promised the residents of Sekhukhune in Limpopo during the party's provincial rally held in Riba Cross on Saturday that there will no longer be a woman who will be denied work opportunity because she refused to sleep with the councillors.

"Here in Tubatse we want to stop this thing of hiring people in exchange of sex. If you refuse to sleep with them they deny you work opportunity. We want to stop these ANC councillors who propose women using municipal posts. People will be hired according to their qualifications. These councillors will be hired to patch the potholes. Those who are illiterate will be working on the same level with these current councillors," said Malema.

He emphasized that there are those community members who could not study because of their poor family backgrounds and they cannot be denied opportunities. He said they are qualifying somewhere as much as the illiterate councillors qualify. Malema said qualified people are denied opportunities by those who are underqualified but holding bigger positions because of their political connections.

Malema stated that the minerals of Sekhukhune must benefit the communities in the area. The arrests of the illegal miners in the area worries Malema who said it must come to an end. He said under EFF government there will be no illegal miner because people will be trained on how to utilize the land and minerals around them.

"These minerals must benefit all our communities not only traditional leaders and individuals. It is wrong to find that in the whole village the only person benefiting is a traditional leader while the community is suffering. We want you to benefit together with leaders in your areas," he said.
