Abandoned Baby boy may grow without relatives

ABANDONED baby boy may grow up without knowing his parents, let alone his own siblings or relatives. This is after he was dumped at a food outlet in Polokwane, Limpopo on Saturday. The baby was found after the shocked customer found him in a toilet. The employees of the outlet were alerted of the incident and the police were called.

Handing a child over to a Social welfare place to take care of when one is unable to do so would have been a better solution but the suspect took a decision to leave the child in abundance. Although the child was left in the toilet in a food outlet there was no assurance that he will be safe.

Many questions raised; what would have happened to him should no one goes to the toilet until the workers close it down? The Saturday weather was chilly and it was raining in Polokwane, the question remains; what could have happened to the young one the whole night and the whole of Sunday? The innocent soul does not know if the parent hates him so much to can be able to abundant him in a toilet.

According to the police in Limpopo, the toddler was found on the floor wearing a Jersey and wrapped with a blanket. Spokesman for the police Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the manhunt for the mother of the child is continuing.

"The motive behind this incident is still unknown at this point but the ongoing police investigation will tell. The case of child neglect was opened but the mother is still not known and there is no arrest. The baby might have few days. He was taken to hospital for medical assistance," says Ngoepe.

He urged those with information which can help in the apprehension of the suspect to contact Captain Martin Thema on 0824517155 or the crime stop number 0860010111, crime sms line 32211 or the nearest police station.
